exploitation of natural resources is a precondition for lasting peace in the DRC. Indeed, the wars that we have just experienced a repeat revealed that the natural resources that make the DRC a "geological scandal" is at the same time a chance, that is, from an economic standpoint, an important asset for the country's recovery, and bad luck, that is a permanent source of greed, conflicts, corruption and even an international mafia, some of which are Congolese accomplices. The main causes of this economic war which call into question the principle of sovereignty of peoples over their resources are: the lack of a binding international legal framework for transnational corporations, and mining industries, the militarization of the mining sector, the explosion of demand for some minerals become strategic the subordination of the diplomatic interests to the economic interests of big powers, the lack of respect for the dignity of the Congolese people are valued only in wealth, the balkanization of the DRC will benefit the children were so easily manipulated. The CENCO operates in three priority areas. The CENCO has created an ad hoc Episcopal Commission for Natural Resources is responsible for following closely the issue of exploitation of resources.
Regarding education, CENCO published a citizen's handbook on the management of natural resources. This document puts man at the center of the exploitation of natural resources, helps people to organize themselves according to the demand for compliance by multinational social responsibility of business, to enforce human rights and communities. Given the international dimension of the issue of exploitation of resources, CENCO expects the sister churches make their voices heard, in solidarity with these people who have suffered so much, that the management of these resources in accordance with the law could become an opportunity for fraternity and development.
