Bokungu-Ikelite diocese is divided into 11 parishes comprising fifty villages each.
There are 14 priests. A diocesan religious congregation of women, the Sœurs de l'Enfant-Jésus, one male and the Frères St. Joseph. The long years of war have sown death and destruction in the territory and leaving an empty pastoral serious consequences. The baptized are only 1 / 6 of the population.
Since March 6, 2005 Bishop of the Diocese is Bishop Fridolin Ambongo Besungu, Friar Minor Capuchin respected and loved by the Church of the Congo for its qualities of the Good Shepherd brought to light many years serving the Church.
